In a little less than 6 months after announcing his semi-retirement from racing, local racer Dustin Boney is making headlines - in a different way. He and his wife, Blythe opened PRIME Racing Products and Custom Fabrication in March of 2012.
Partially due to Dustin's well-known reputation for setting up fast race cars, the business has grown rapidly. "I've been told for years from fellow competitors that I should charge for sharing my knowledge on chassis set-up and components, but it wasn't the right time to venture into that field. Now that I am not heavily involved in my own racing endeavors, I want to give back to the local racers that I hope will keep racing alive in the Midwest for years to come," Dustin announced.
PRIME Racing Products offers products from over 100 manufacturers. Dustin explains, "We offer QUALITY parts to racers at fair prices. I know which brands withstand the stress that racing puts on equipment, and I know which ones do not. I only endorse the products that I would run on my own car, and those are the only ones I sell."
Dustin also offers tech support such as complete car assembly, front end alignment, scaling, shock expertise, weekly maintenance, tire prep work as well as driving techniques and guidance.
PRIME Racing Products also features a line of fabrication including custom crafted front and rear bumpers at unbelievable prices. Front bumpers for all manufactures are regularly $60, and rear bumpers vary between $55 and $65.
"We are a one stop shop; we not only sell parts, we perform chassis repairs, and make bodies," Dustin said.
